How it works
With a normal taxi, you pay for one journey and the car leaves. With hire by the hour, the car and driver stay with you. They wait while you're at an appointment, move on to the next stop when you're ready, and bring you home at the end. You tell us the plan and roughly how long you need, and we'll give you a price for the time.
Options
- Wait-and-return: a simple return trip where the driver waits during a short appointment.
- Hourly hire: for errands, several stops or a shorter outing.
- Half-day and full-day hire: for days out, events or a day of visits.
- Weekly hire: for visitors staying locally, or while your own car is off the road.
Hospital and clinic appointments
This is one of the most useful ways to use driver hire. For outpatient appointments at Kingston Hospital or Epsom Hospital, a wait-and-return booking means you're dropped near the entrance and the driver waits to bring you home. You won't have to find parking, or find a car afterwards when you may not feel your best. Mention any mobility needs when you book.
Days out
A car and driver opens up days that are awkward by public transport: a visit to Hampton Court Palace and lunch by the river, a trip to Windsor, a tour of central London's sights, or seeing several relatives in one day. Your driver follows your plan, and you'll never have to look for somewhere to park.
